We breed for fluffy pet purposes, not for commercial reasons.

We breed for fluffy companion purposes, not for commercial reasons.

Having started our farm running commercial Black Angus cattle, we soon learned that it was more interesting and more fun to breed “fluffy pets” - our serious neighbouring farmers are still shaking their heads!

Highland cattle look amazing with their long, shaggy coats and ornate horns. They also have a really nice temperament and can easily be trained for handling by people - some of our Highlands are broken to the lead.

Living in the Southern Highlands, we also feel a connection to this ancient breed, which is one of the oldest registered breeds of cattle in the world

All our calves are raised by their mothers. We do not bottle raise unless we are required to intervene. Our calves will be available to go to their new homes once weaned at approximately 6-7 months.

We breed both horned and poll Highlands.

Roxberry is a registered Highland breeder. For information about Highlands, please visit Australian Highland Cattle Society and Poll Highland Cattle Society, or feel free to contact us.
